After several exhibitions abroad in the last 1.5 years, notably in New York (US), Stuttgart (DE), Halle/Saale (DE), Odense (DK), Melbourne (AUS), and Rome (IT) we are excited to show Eric Mangen (*1983, LU) again at the gallery with a new abstract body of work.

The new series Sacred Monsters adequately demonstrates Eric Mangen’s big gestural talent as well as his skill in combining colors. The artist is led by energy and a deep passion for colours and bold brush strokes. Through the use of different materials there is always a balance between control and accident in the artist’s practice — Spray cans that are exploding, super thick brushes, custom-made XXL oilsticks, car-polishing gloves dipped into paint… His powerful, abstract and gestural approach to painting, brings forth a seemingly controlled chaos of lines and shapes manifesting in a festival of colors.
