B & B
JEAN-MARIE BIWER & GENEVIÈVE BIWER

28 November 2024 - 11 January 2025

The exhibition B&B brings together the works of Jean-Marie Biwer and Geneviève Biwer, focusing on the theme of travel as expressed through painting and photography. This presentation marks the first exhibition of Jean-Marie Biwer since his 2020 solo show at MUDAM.

Jean-Marie Biwer (b. 1957) has developed a distinctive body of figurative work that reflects a deep sensitivity to both his immediate surroundings—the Ardennes countryside in northern Luxembourg—and broader societal contexts. His oeuvre engages with themes long established within the tradition of painting, including landscape, the human form, and still life.

Geneviève Biwer (b.1958), is a photographer working exclusively with analog black-and-white techniques, captures poetic representations of landscapes, still lifes, and other scenes encountered during her travels. Through her lens, she evokes a contemplative view of the world, imbuing each image with a quiet yet profound sense of place.
